An Illinois diver has recovered nearly 200 Apple Watches from the bottom of a lake and warned watch owners not to go swimming with original watch bands.
Derek Langos, a Port Barrington scuba diver, makes a living as a metal detector that he uses to recover lost items from the Indiana Chain O’ Lakes.
He said he found 200 Apple smartwatches deep in the lake during his swim. Derek Langos, operator of Scuba Bear Diving Recovery Service.
He said that all the watches found had their original bands. He told the local media that those who go into the water with sports bands cannot stay.
He said he was hired to recover some watches while others he found while diving. He has kept all things to himself in order to return them to their owners. I did not sell any of them, including a white gold Cartier ring, to return it to the owners.
