Pakistani Mountaineer Naela Khan appointed as Goodwill Ambassador for Girls' Education.

Islamabad: The Federal Ministry of Education has appointed Pakistan’s famous female mountaineer Naila Kayani as the national goodwill ambassador for girls’ education.

The Federal Ministry of Education says that Naila Kayani will highlight the importance of girls’ education across the country as a goodwill ambassador. Naila Kayani is the only female athlete in Pakistan to receive the Star Award, the appointment of Naila Kayani as the National Goodwill Ambassador is a testament to her commitment to empowering women through education.

Naila Kayani, an aerospace engineer and a banker, is the first Pakistani woman and the third Pakistani to climb 11 peaks above 8,000 meters. Naila Kayani is Nanga Parbat, Gasherbaram One, Gasherbaram Two, Lhotse, Manaslu, Broad Peak, Annapurna, Makalu, and Cho Oyo Sarkar Chiki.

Naila is the fastest Pakistani to summit all 11 high peaks in less than three years, she is among the top 10 climbers worldwide to summit seven peaks above 8,000 meters in six months in 2023.

On her appointment, Naila Kayani said, “I feel proud to be appointed as the National Goodwill Ambassador for Girls’ Education. Education is the only way for our country to empower women and achieve success. I support such educational initiatives.” through which every girl has access to quality education.
