Gyeongsang: A rap group consisting of elderly women in South Korea is becoming quite popular around the world called Sunny and the Seven Princes. According to media reports, women in their 70s and 80s have formed their own rap group in South Korea, which has gained attention on social media. The group of elderly women from Chilgok, a village in Gyeongsang Province, started rapping in August last year, but it’s unusual members are now known around the world as ‘grandmothers’. It’s not uncommon to see people rapping in baggy pants and neck chains. The group consists of eight female members who have known each other since they were young. Growing up in a rural area, he didn’t have the opportunity to get an education, so in 2016 he started learning to read and write Korean. One day, the group’s 81-year-old leader member Park Geum-sun saw a rap video on the Internet, which prompted her fellow women to learn rapping, and a few years later, Sunny and the Seven Princes formed an all-female rap group. The group came to the world portraying their rural lifestyle in a rapping style.
