Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Convict Died Of Heart Attack

Sathendra Raja, alias Santhan, the convict of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in India, died of a heart attack.

According to foreign media, Sathendra Raja aka Santhan was admitted to the hospital due to ill health, but he died today.

In this regard, the Indian media says that Sathendra Raja alias Santhan had a heart attack in the morning, on which he was shifted to the hospital and given medical aid, but he could not survive.

It should be noted that the Indian Supreme Court had ordered the release of all the accused in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s murder case.

The court order said that if no other case is pending against these accused, then they should be released.

A bench of Justice BR Govi ​​and Justice Nagaratna said that the Tamil Nadu government had sent a recommendation to the Governor for the release of these convicts but the Governor has not yet taken any decision on it.

The Supreme Court in its judgment said that there was unreasonable delay on the part of the Governor in taking the decision to release the convicts, therefore the Supreme Court had ordered the release of Parrivalin using the special powers under Article 142 and now observed That the order given in the Pararivlan case also applies to these convicts, so they should also be released immediately.
