A campaign against beggarswas launched in Dubai.
According to Dubai Police, citizens should avoid begging and discourage beggars, the public should also beware of ‘online beggars’.
According to Dubai Police, beggars will be fined 5,000 dirhams and 3 months in jail, while running a beggar gang will be fined 100,000 dirhams under Emirati laws.
According to the Dubai Police, 6 months imprisonment will also be imposed for recruiting donkeys from abroad.
Apart from this, Dubai Police has also issued a toll-free number of 901 police to report beggars.
