Renowned American author Shaun King along with his wife Rae King entered the circle of Islam after reciting the word of martyrdom on the first day of Ramadan.
On the social media site Instagram, American professor Khaled Baidoun, with the help of scholar and activist Omar Sulaiman, released a live broadcast based on the scenes of Shawn and his wife’s conversion to Islam.
The 44-year-old Schon, a member of the Democratic Party, has been active in movements such as ‘Black Lives Matter’.
In a post on his official Facebook account, he expressed his happiness on entering the circle of Islam. He said that my wife and I have just returned home after offering prayers at a mosque near our house in Dallas.
He said that we have accepted Islam at the beginning of Ramadan by reading the word of martyrdom. Shawn described the day of conversion as “meaningful” and said it was a day we would never forget.
He said that we will fast this year with more than one billion Muslims. Remember me and my wife in your special prayers.
