Khawaja Muhammad Asif took over the portfolio of Minister of Defense and Defense Production.
After assuming charge of the ministry, Khawaja Asif visited the office of the Ministry of Defense, where he was received by Defense Secretary, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Hamud-uz-Zaman Khan. The Federal Minister had an introductory meeting with the senior officers of the two ministries.
The Defense Minister was briefed on the roles and functions of the Ministries and their administrative departments including important ongoing activities.
Speaking on the occasion, the Defense Minister said that the government will provide maximum support to meet the needs of the armed forces.
