Iran wants to connect Gwadar and Chabahar to form sister ports

The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri said in his statement that the relations between Iran and Pakistan have always been excellent and Iran is willing to keep these relations more stable.

We want to connect Gwadar and Chabahar to form sister ports.

He said these things in a function given in his honor at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce. Addressing the event, Raza Amiri said that they want to increase regional cooperation and trade by opening more border crossing points.

Efforts will be made to make Iran a participant in the CPEC and Rail Link project.

He further said that the volume of mutual trade between Pakistan and Iran has reached two and a half billion dollars during the last 11 months.

And we want to take the bilateral trade volume to 5 billion dollars. Pakistan can build a transit route to Central Asian and Western countries through Iran.

Iran has laid a 1000 kilometre long gas pipeline worth one billion dollars near the Pakistani border.

The Iranian ambassador added that the Iranian president will visit Pakistan soon at the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
