According to the details, SNGPL has demanded a further increase in gas price up to 147%. Sui Northern has requested that the gas price hike be implemented from July 1, 2024.
An increase of Rs 2646.18 per mmbtu has been demanded in Sui Northern gas price. Sui Northern has requested to fix the new average gas price at Rs 4446.89.
Sui Northern Gas Company has estimated a revenue shortfall of Rs 189 billion 18 crore. OGRA will hear the request of Sui Northern on March 25 in Lahore. In this regard, OGRA will also hear the request on March 27 in Peshawar.
According to sources, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has started preparations to increase the price of gas for Sindh and Balochistan from the next financial year.
In its application to OGRA, SSGC has sought permission to increase the price of gas by Rs 324.03 per mmbtu from July 1, 2024.
It is requested to fix the new average gas price at Rs.1740.80. In the said application, Sui Southern has estimated a revenue shortfall of Rs 79 billion 63 crore. In which the revenue shortfall in terms of local gas is estimated at Rs 56 billion 69 crore, while the shortfall of RLNG is estimated at Rs 22 billion. 93 crore 50 lakh has been invested.
