The Department of Meteorology has clarified the news about the possible date of Eid-ul-Fitr 2024.
In the ongoing clarification from the Department of Meteorology, it has been said that the news about the possible date of Eid-ul-Fitr on social media is not true, no prediction or announcement has been made by us, the moon of Eid will be announced by the Ruyat Halal Committee.
It should be noted that according to media reports, astronomers had indicated the possibility of Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated on April 11 across the country, however, the Met office has rejected any announcement or prediction.
If Eid falls on April 11, then Pakistanis will be able to keep 30 fasts in the holy month of Ramadan this year. It should be clear that the month of fasting across the country started on March 12 and the Shawwal moon is likely to be seen on April 10 or 11.
