The Prime Minister and Cabinet members decided not to take salaries and privileges

Cabinet members including Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have decided not to take salaries and benefits voluntarily.

This decision has been taken in the context of adopting austerity.

In the meeting, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb gave a detailed briefing to the Cabinet on the Staff Level Agreement with the IMF.

This will further increase the confidence of investors. Furthermore, the Cabinet also approved the formation of Pakistan International Airlines Holding Company, a major step towards the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines Holding Company PIA which is part of the strategy formulated by the government for the real welfare of the national airline.

Apart from this, the Federal Cabinet also paid homage to the martyrs of the Mir Ali terrorist attack and recited Fatiha and expressed their commitment to the complete elimination of terrorism from the country.
