According to a confirmed report, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government owes more than 282 billion rupees to the Asian Development Bank.

According to the details, the provincial government received a loan of 282 billion 28 million rupees from the Asian Development Bank.

In which a loan of 138 billion 388 million rupees was taken for 10 projects including BRT.

While 53 billion 298 million rupees were borrowed for energy projects. Moreover, loans of 21 billion 677 million rupees were also obtained for irrigation projects.

14 billion 23 crore 50 lakh rupees were also obtained for further regional development projects.

In this context, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Advisor Muzamil Aslam said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government owes 309 billion rupees to the Asian Development Bank.

And these loans have been received until December 31, 2023. The sole purpose of these loans is to finance important projects, the long-term loans cover a period of 20 to 25 years and are obtained at a low rate of interest.

Regarding the recovery of these loans, he said that all this money will be spent in the next 5 years.
