Torrential rains break 75-year record in Dubai

All records of heavy rains in UAE were broken.

The United Arab Emirates was hit by torrential rains, after which water stood everywhere in Dubai, while the airport began to present a lake view and dozens of flights were also canceled due to submerged runways. Water also accumulated in front of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

Due to torrential rains, Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road had to be closed from various sections, and the traffic jam lasted a few kilometers for several hours.

According to a foreign news agency, the government has instructed the people to stay at home, the streets of Dubai were flooded early in the morning. People also walked in shopping malls with handcuffs while metro stations turned into ponds.

On the other hand, 17 people died as a result of floods and accidents in Oman. In addition to this, floods caused havoc in Bahrain and 35 people died due to floods in Afghanistan.
