Government's decision to continue Prime Minister's relief package on utility stores

The government has decided to continue the Prime Minister’s Relief Package even after the end of Ramadan package on utility stores.

According to the report, under the Prime Minister’s Relief Package, the subsidy on 5 basic commodities will continue, in which BISP customers will get subsidy on sugar, flour, ghee, pulses and rice.

According to the report, sugar will be Rs 109 per kg for utility stores and ISP users and a 10 kg bag of flour will be available at Rs 648 while ghee will be available at Rs 393 per kg.

Apart from this, a subsidy of Rs 25 per kg of pulses and rice will be given. Sources say that there is a plan to continue the Prime Minister’s package on utility stores till June 2024 and about 3 billion rupees monthly subsidy will be given under the package, while the decision regarding the continuation of the package for the next financial year will be taken by the federal government.
