Online taxi service Uber has stopped its operations in Pakistan.

Online taxi service Uber has decided to stop its service in Pakistan.

An Uber spokesperson confirmed the decision to stop service in Pakistan. He added that our ancillary service ‘Cream’ will continue to operate, which is a source of income for thousands of drivers in Pakistan.

It should be noted that Uber bought Kareem in 2009 for $3.1 billion. Both companies said they would continue to operate their respective regional services and independent brands.

In an email sent to customers in Lahore, Uber said it had “taken the difficult decision to no longer offer Uber app services in Lahore from April 30”.

The email stated that Humay subsidiary Careem will continue its operations, and you will have the option to sign up and travel on Careem. Note that Uber has plans to open Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Islam in 2022. It was decided to close its operations in Abad and confine it to Lahore.
