Mezbo is one of the areas in southern China’s Guangdong Province that has been hit hard by heavy rain and hail since late April, causing landslides, inundation of houses and destruction of bridges.
Incessant rains, hailstorms and typhoons have ravaged southern China, forcing the evacuation of an entire town of more than 1,700 people in Guangdong province, media reported.
Media reports say scenes of devastation have been seen across the province since the arrival of powerful storms last week, which was once called the “factory floor of the world”, with April rainfall records breaking here. Heavy rains have knocked down power lines and disrupted mobile telephone networks across the region.
