It has been revealed that petrol pumps, shops, godowns, flats and offices have been constructed on the lands given to the Sindh Police in the name of welfare.
According to the report submitted by IG Sindh in Sindh High Court, 4 petrol pumps and 1397 shops, 338 flats, 37 godowns and 162 offices were built on police land in Sindh.
The report states that commercial activities are going on at 32 places on police land across Sindh, apart from Karachi, in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Dadu, Badin, Mirpur Khas, Nawabshah, Khairpur, Ghotki, Larkana, Kashmore and Jacobabad. Commercial activities are going on on the police land.
The report further stated that after the orders of the Supreme Court, the shopkeepers were asked to vacate the shops, the shopkeepers approached the Supreme Court against the notices and the Supreme Court referred the matter to the Sindh High Court.
