Decision to establish 16 IT labs in Islamabad with the support of Special Investment Facilitation Council
The Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, has decided to establish 16 state-of-the-art IT labs in the educational institutions of the federal capital, where the youth will be taught the latest skills. According to the announcement issued by the Ministry of Education, these latest IT labs will be established in 16 degree colleges located in different areas of Islamabad. Where the youth will be taught the latest skills which will increase the employment opportunities for them.
In these IT labs, students will be given 6-month courses in blockchain, data science, artificial intelligence and game development. In the first phase, courses will be offered to around 1,000 students. which are being introduced keeping in view the market demand.
These courses will start in second week of May 2024. The Ministry of Education further informed that so far 3600 students have registered for these courses. These courses have been developed by the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission in collaboration with renowned universities like NUST, National Skills University, COMSATS and NAML.
On the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Federal Ministry of Education has decided to develop these 16 state-of-the-art IT labs. It is worth mentioning here that providing employment opportunities to the youth is also included in the agenda of the Special Investment Facility Council.
