Canada: 3 lawmakers kicked out of Ontario assembly for wearing Palestinian headscarves

Ottawa: Legislators in Canada were thrown out of the assembly for wearing Palestinian headscarves.

According to international news agencies, 3 legislators in the assembly of the Canadian province of Ontario wore the Palestinian headscarf ‘Kufiya’ while expressing solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians who were victims of Israeli terrorism, however, calling their act of humanitarianism a crime. He was thrown out of the assembly.

Media reports indicate that on May 6, Canadian independent lawmaker Sarah Jama was kicked out of the House for wearing a kufiya (Palestinian headscarf) to protest Israeli intransigence and the continued bombing of Palestine, especially Gaza.

Later, New Democratic Party (NDP) legislators Joel Hardin and Christine Wong Tam also donned kofia and walked out in solidarity with Sarah Jama.

In this regard, the Speaker of the Ontario Assembly says that it is allowed to wear a Kofiya (Palestinian headscarf) outside the Assembly building, but it is not allowed in the House.
