Flight operation at Lahore Airport closed till 10 pm

After the fire at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, the period of suspension of flight operations has been extended.

In the notice issued by Civil Aviation, it is said that the flight operation at Lahore Airport will be closed till 10:00 pm, while earlier the period of closure of Lahore Airport was till 3:30 pm.

According to the Notum, time has been given till 10 pm for the restoration of the immigration system at Lahore Airport. International flight operations will be able to start after the IMS system is restored.

Aviation sources say that Lahore Airport has been closed for international flights, while domestic flights and cargo planes can land at Lahore Airport.

According to the sources, after the fire, 24 domestic and foreign flights of Lahore were canceled and 3 were diverted while foreign flights in the air have been directed to be transferred to an alternate airport.

It should be noted that due to fire in the lounge of Lahore Airport, the immigration process at the airport was affected and the first Hajj flight from Lahore was also stopped.

According to airport sources, the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the ceiling of the immigration counter.
