The 16th Chief of Naval Staff International Squash Championship has started in Karachi

The 16th Chief of Naval Staff International Squash Championship has started in Karachi.

The opening ceremony of the 16th Chief of Naval Staff International Squash Championship was held at Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex where Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Hilal Imtiaz Military Mohammad Saleem inaugurated the championship as the Chief Guest.

Legend Jahangir Khan was also present on this occasion, 24 players from 9 countries are participating in the championship, including five Pakistani and 19 foreign players.

On the first day, Pakistan’s wildcard entry Nasir Iqbal defeated Malaysia’s seeded Darren Pragsam in an upset 11-9, 11-5 and 11-10.

In the opening match, there was a sensational match between Malaysia’s Shafiq Kamal and Egypt’s Hazim Housham, which lasted for five sets. The Malaysian player won the fifth set. In other matches, players from Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and England won.

The prize money of the championship consists of 20 thousand dollars, in the championship, Pakistan’s under-15 boys girls and under-13 boys also competed.
