Experts say that millions of cases of stomach and liver diseases are coming to light in Pakistan every month.
Addressing the 6th Annual Pak GI and Liver Disease Conference, experts said that half of the patients who come to emergency departments come with complaints of stomach diseases.
Dr. Lubna Kamani says that Pakistan needs hundreds of trained gastroenterologists, there is also a severe shortage of female gastroenterologists in Pakistan.
Dr. Shahid Ahmed has said that Pakistan is suffering from epidemics of diarrhea, hepatitis, typhoid and cholera. He said that Pakistan GI and Liver Disease Society is training young doctors from remote areas.
