Karachi, Hyderabad: Typhoid vaccination campaign started, non-vaccination will be punished

Sindh Government has started Typhoid Vaccination Campaign in Karachi and Hyderabad, the campaign will continue till May 25. Health Minister Ezra Pechuho has inaugurated Typhoid Vaccination Campaign in Karachi and Hyderabad.

Typhoid vaccination campaign will continue till May 25 in 7 districts of Karachi and 1 district of Hyderabad. Ezra Pechuho has appealed to parents to get their children vaccinated.

Project Director EPI Sindh Dr. Naeem said that this vaccine is for children between the ages of 9 months to 15 years, 7 thousand volunteers are participating in the campaign. In 2018, the target of providing typhoid vaccine to 89 lakh children has been set.

Sindh Health Minister said that diseases spread very fast and it is necessary to prevent them. Contaminated water and food are the cause of spread of typhoid.

He said that it is possible to treat typhoid, water should be boiled to prevent it. The old vaccines and antibiotics were not working to prevent typhoid. The new vaccine works to protect against typhoid. Ezra Pechuho added that parents are also given a message to vaccinate their children against typhoid. In case of non-vaccination, punishment can also be imposed.
