Refusal of mill owners to buy government wheat

Accused Alkan has refused to buy government wheat and demanded that 85 crores of cheap flour is owed to the government in Ramadan, the government should allow us to export semolina, flour, flour, bran

Accused Alkan said that the price of wheat in the open market is 3 thousand rupees per maund and the quality is also better than the official wheat. In Ramadan, flour mill owners milled their wheat and provided cheap flour to the government, which still owes Rs 85 crore to the government.

He said that if the government allows the export of semolina, flour, flour and bran, then the government can buy wheat. The mill owners demanded that the government should allow the export of up to 8 lakh tonnes of wheat. Sources have said that according to the Ministry of Food, there has been a very good harvest this time, while more than 130,000 wheat is lying in the government warehouses.

On the other hand, in the past few days, the report of disappearance of wheat in Sindh in 2022 was leaked. A 205-page report of the chief minister’s inspection team was revealed, in which it was stated that a total of 3 billion 22 crore rupees worth of wheat was damaged. Sindh Food Department says that we have not received any such official report yet. If the report is received, action will be taken against the officers involved, the Food Department clarified that no posting has been given to the officers involved in wheat theft.

In the report, wheat warehouses in 14 districts across Sindh have been evaluated. It should be noted that there was an investigation into the alleged missing and damaged wheat in the 2022 flood.
