China is taking a lot of steps to conquer space and now a new scientific experiment has also proved successful.
Four zebrafish were sent to the Tiangong Space Station by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where experiments on them are continuing successfully.
The four fish were sent to the Chinese space station on April 25, 2024, along with three astronauts, and are in stable condition there. The purpose of sending the fish was to learn how these organisms survive in low gravity.
The astronauts aboard the space station collected water samples from the fish tank twice, while their food containers were changed once, the researchers said.
The research discovered that the slight gravity at 400 kilometers above the surface of the earth caused a change in the behavior of the zebrafish as they began to swim backwards. 70% of the genetic system is similar to humans while their physical development is very fast, which helps to observe the physical changes and their behaviors.
The researchers said that the changes in the zebrafish will help to understand the effects of the space environment on humans and test different methods to prevent the negative effects.
