With the arrival of Hajj days, the Kiswa of the Kaaba has been raised by 3 meters.

On the occasion of Hajj, like every year, the cover of the Kaaba ‘Kiswah’ was raised by the administration of the Haramin Sharif.

After the approval of the General Authority that oversees the affairs of Masjid Al-Haram and Masjid Nabawi (peace be upon him), the cover of the Kaaba was raised 3 meters above the ground. This tradition is repeated every year before the arrival of Hajj.

Yesterday, after the Isha prayer, the exposed part of the Kaaba was covered from all four sides with a white cotton cloth, 2.5 meters wide and 54 meters long. The cover of the Kaaba will remain 3 meters above the ground until the 15th of Dhul-Hijjah.

Its purpose is to protect the cover of the Kaaba from any kind of damage during Hajj. In the past, pilgrims used to touch the Kaaba cover and cut pieces of it as tabarak, which damaged the cover. Note that the Kaaba cover is raised from all four sides, using special ropes in this process. are made with which the cover of the Kaaba is raised and tied.
