ISLAMABAD: State TV Anchorperson Mona Khan was detained in Greece.
Female journalist and anchor person Mona Khan went for hiking. His mobile phone was also seized by the police.
Mona Khan’s coach Yusuf says that Mona Khan has been detained by the police in Greece. I have been in touch with Mona Khan who left her son in Athens for hiking. Mona Khan had gone abroad with her son from Pakistan.
Mona Khan’s alleged conversation also surfaced in which she says that I was mistreated by the Greek police. All the hikers were gathered together and when I took out the Pakistani flag, the police detained me. I was asked whether you will wave the flag of Pakistan, so I replied “Yes”, I will wave the flag of Pakistan, after which I was detained. Mona Khan’s coach Yusuf has appealed to the government to take steps to release Mona Khan.
On the other hand, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch says that the Pakistani Embassy in Greece is investigating the reasons behind Mona Khan’s arrest. Greek authorities have sought consular access to Mona Khan.
