The Bureau of Statistics released a weekly report on inflation, the overall annual rate of inflation in the country reached 21.31 percent.
According to the report of the Institute of Statistics, garlic became cheaper by 7.87% and chicken meat by 5.92% in a week. Apart from this, prices of flour decreased by 4.66%, onion by 1.99% and eggs by 1.22%, LPG by 3.23% and firewood by 0.04%.
According to the report, the price of beef increased by 0.49 percent and gram dal by 0.42 percent. Tea, goat meat, jaggery, yogurt, milk and cigarettes also became expensive in the recent week.
Last week too, short-term inflation was recorded at 1.01 percent, after which the annualized inflation rate declined to 21.22 percent.
During the week, 18 commodities became cheaper and 12 essential commodities became expensive, while the prices of 21 products remained stable.
