The French parliament has suspended a left-wing member of parliament for two weeks after waving a Palestinian flag in the chamber
According to foreign media, Sébastien Delagou, a member of parliament from the radical left France Enbaud (FFI) from the southern city of Marseille, waved a Palestinian flag during a question about the government’s recognition of Palestine.
The Speaker of Parliament condemned the action of the MP as “unacceptable” and suspended him for two weeks.
The MP, suspended for two weeks, left the House making a ‘Victory’ sign. It should be noted that the suspension of the member of parliament came into effect on the day that Spain, Ireland and Norway officially recognized the Palestinian state.
