Dr. Shehzad Baig, head of Pakistan's polio program, resigns.

The head of Pakistan Polio Program Dr. Shehzad Baig has resigned.

According to a private TV channel, Dr. Shahzad has said in his resignation that he is resigning from the post of National Co-ordinator for Polio due to personal reasons.

Sources say that the government of Pakistan had decided to bring government officials for the polio program a few days ago. Dr. Shehzad Baig was facing severe criticism for the spread of polio in Pakistan.

So far in Pakistan, polio has been confirmed in 153 environmental samples in 39 districts, 3 children have been affected by polio in Pakistan so far.
