Washington: US President Joe Biden proposed a new agreement for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
According to a foreign news agency, US President Joe Biden, speaking to the media, said that the agreement was presented by Israel, which was delivered to Hamas through mediators. The proposed ceasefire agreement consists of 3 phases.
He said that the first phase of the ceasefire will be 6 weeks long in which there will be a complete ceasefire. In this phase, the Israeli army will withdraw from the populated areas of Gaza. According to the agreement, women and elderly Israeli prisoners will be released.
Joe Biden said that hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and American hostages in Gaza would be released in return. Citizens will be able to return to their homes throughout Gaza, including northern Gaza, and 600 aid trucks will enter Gaza daily during this time.
He said that this phase can be started after the parties accept the ceasefire agreement and in the second phase, all the living hostages including male soldiers will be exchanged. In the second phase, the Israeli army will completely withdraw from Gaza. The American president said that in the third phase, the project of reconstruction of Gaza will be started. The Israeli government should support the agreement regardless of pressure.
