Karachi's sea has been declared a 'dead zone' for aquatic life

World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) think tank advisor Moazzam Khan has said that the sea of ​​Karachi is losing aquatic life due to human activities.

Talking to a private channel on World Ocean Day, Moazzam Khan said that 500 million gallons of dirty water is released into the sea of ​​Karachi every day.

According to WWF’s Tinkeki Advisor, the pollution has spread to about 10 km outside Karachi Port, Karachi Port and its adjacent areas have been declared as ‘dead zone’ for aquatic life.

He said that due to pollution, about 10 important marine life has disappeared in Karachi port area, dirty water from Lyari river, Malir river and other small and big rivers goes into the sea.

Muazzam Khan says that the area around Gulbai and Mosquito Colony is also very polluted for aquatic life, no marine life is found around Gulbai and Mosquito Colony.
