The Prime Minister called the first meeting of the National Economic Council yesterday

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called the first meeting of the National Economic Council yesterday.

The Prime Minister had formed the National Economic Council on June 7 to finalize the big economic projects. The Prime Minister himself will preside over the meeting of the National Economic Council.

According to the investigations of our investigation team, the council will consider the next five-year economic plan and the provincial development plan, the council will discuss the public sector development plan and the federal enterprises development program.

The Council will also look into matters related to the budget, review the progress report of the ACNIC and Central Development Working Party. The National Economic Council will implement the recommendations of SIFC on all the economic projects, the first meeting of the National Economic Council will be attended by the four provincial chief ministers.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal are also among the members. Among the council members will be Sen. Maryam Aurangzeb from Punjab, Muzamil Aslam from KP, Jam Khan Shoro from Sindh and Zahoor Bilidi from Balochistan.

Federal Minister Ahad Cheema, Deputy Chairman Planning, Secretaries Finance, Economic Affairs and Planning will also be invited on a special invitation.
