A significant decrease was recorded in the average price of edible oil and vegetable ghee in the country during May 2024.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, the average price of one liter of mustard oil in the country was recorded at Rs 495.43 in May 2024, which is 0.88% lower than the previous month.
The average price of 5 liters of Dalda cooking oil in May was recorded at Rs 2652.29, which is 0.69% lower than in April. Further, the consumption of urea and DAP in the country recorded an increase on annual basis in the first five months of the current calendar year.
During the period from January to May, the consumption of urea in the country was recorded at 2,555,000 tonnes, which is three percent higher than the same period last year. On the other hand, the price of flour in the country recorded a decrease of 29.26% during May.
