KP and Balochistan Assembly meeting today

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan Assemblies will meet today, the agenda for the meeting of both the assemblies has been released.

The meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will start at 11 am today, after the recitation of the Holy Quran, the newly elected members of the assembly will take oath and sign the attendance register.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PML-N has nominated Dr. Ibadullah as the candidate for the Chief Ministership. After the oath-taking, the nomination papers for the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be submitted to the Assembly Secretary by 5 pm.

On the other hand, the meeting of the Balochistan Assembly will also be held today in which more than 50 newly elected members of the assembly will take oath. The meeting will be chaired by senior member Engineer Zamrik Khan Achakzai in the absence of the speaker, while the election of the speaker and deputy speaker will be held on February 29. In Balochistan, JUI has decided to field its candidate for the Chief Ministership.

On the other hand, the reconciliation and power sharing formula between the People’s Party and the Muslim League (N) has been decided, according to which the Prime Minister will belong to the People’s Party and the Speaker will be taken from the Non-League.

It should be noted that Senator Sarfaraz Bugti left the Senate seat while Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Senator Prince Umar Ahmad Zai also resigned from the Senate seat. Both the members will take oath as MPAs in the Balochistan Assembly today. While Akhtar Mengal has decided to leave the provincial assembly seat.
