Obviously, the fourth year is a leap year every three years and this year has 366 days instead of the usual 365 days and this year February has 29 days instead of 28.
Why do leap years happen?
According to our calendar, there are 365 days in a year because this is the time it takes for the earth to revolve around the sun, but this period is not full 365 days but a little more.
According to astronomers, the earth takes 365.242190 days to complete one orbit around the sun.
This makes 365 days, five hours, 48 minutes and 56 seconds. This is called sidereal air.
A sidereal year is slightly longer than a normal year, so extra hours, minutes and seconds are subtracted from it. However, these additional hours are adjusted by adding one day in the fourth year after every three years.
