The Sunni Unity Council nominated Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of the Pashtun Khwa Milli Awami Party, as the presidential candidate
The Election Commission of Pakistan released the presidential election schedule yesterday, according to which the presidential election will be held on March 9. Nomination papers for the presidential election can be submitted before 12 noon on March 2.
According to the schedule, the scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officer will be done on March 4 at 10 am and these nomination papers can be withdrawn by March 5 at 12 noon.
Yesterday, PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat also indicated to nominate Mehmood Khan Achakzai as the presidential candidate. It should be clear that Asif Ali Zardari is the presidential candidate on behalf of the Pakistan People’s Party.
Mehmood Khan Achakzai was elected Member of National Assembly by getting 67 thousand 28 votes from NA 266 Qila Abdullah Kim Chaman in the general elections.
