In the case against the abundance of donkeys on Karachi’s highways and traffic signals, the court ordered action against the donkeys on the woman’s complaint.
The court cracked down on professional peddlers of signals across the city, ordering the arrest and prosecution of the peddlers and their facilitators, and said action should also be taken against the business networkers of peddlers.
The court ordered that a detailed report should be submitted by taking action against donkeys across the city. On April 19, the court had ordered the Karachi Police Chief to take action against donkeys at signals and public places.
The court said that the responsibility of implementing the court order is that of Karachi Police Chief, DIG East and West Zone, all officers should ensure the implementation of the court order.
In this regard, the Additional Inspector General Karachi Police was directed to appoint a focal person and submit a report every month regarding the action and it was asked to activate the anti-gadgari institution which has been inactive since 2018.
The court directed the DG Child Protection Bureau to cooperate with the police regarding child molestation, to take the police and Child Protection Bureau, Social Welfare Department and other relevant stakeholders on board for action and including economic compulsion. The causes of trafficking like human trafficking should also be eliminated.
