The Speaker Punjab Assembly suspended the membership of certain members in the light of the Supreme Court’s decision.
27 special seats were suspended in the Punjab Assembly session chaired by Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan.
These 27 reserved seats for women and minorities were given to the ruling coalition, 23 members of the Muslim League-N were suspended, after which the number in the House is reduced to 203.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan declared the point of order of opposition member Rana Aftab on specific seats correct.
It should be noted that the Supreme Court had suspended the decision to give the quota seats of the Sunni Ittehad Council to other parties.
