Justice Muneeb Akhtar was sworn in as the Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan. Justice Yahya Afridi took oath from Justice Muneeb Akhtar.
According to the details, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faiz Isa will visit abroad from May 18 to May 25. Due to his foreign visit, Justice Muneeb Akhtar took the oath of acting Chief Justice.
Supreme Court judges and senior lawyers participated in the swearing-in ceremony.
It should be noted that Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa is going to Azerbaijan today, where he will participate in the Conference of Chief Justices of ECO countries.
It is noteworthy that Mansoor Ali Shah is the most senior judge of the Supreme Court after the Chief Justice, but he has also gone abroad, so Justice Muneeb Akhtar took the oath of acting Chief Justice.
