Two telecom companies block 3500 SIMs, FBR

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has confirmed that SIMs of non-filers have been blocked.

In the statement released by the spokesperson FBR, it has been said that about 3500 SIMs were blocked by 2 telecom companies, but the SIMs of the citizens who file the return will be restored immediately.

Spokesperson FBR said that a telecom company has obtained an injunction from the Islamabad High Court.

It should be noted that there was an agreement between the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and telecom operators on the issue of blocking the SIMs of non-filers across the country, but later the Islamabad High Court after hearing the petition filed by the mobile companies. The mobile phone was blocked from turning off SIMS.
