Wasim Akram and other famous players have been named as multicultural ambassadors for Cricket Australia.

Wasim Akram, former captain of Pakistan cricket team and Sultan of Swing, has been appointed as the Multicultural Ambassador of Cricket Australia.

A total of 54 ambassadors include India’s Ravi Shastri and former Sri Lanka and Bangladesh cricketers Russell Arnold and Aminul Islam.

Australia’s Test opener Usman Khawaja, Fawad Ahmed, Scott Boland, former women’s captain Lisa Asthalikar and Mel Jones are also part of the ambassador program, according to reports, these ambassadors have been appointed for 2 years.

The Ambassador Program aims to provide a clear pathway to cricket in Australia to players, spectators and coaches from the South Asian region.
