Restriction imposed on the purchase and sale of non-standard LPG cylinders.

Islamabad: Ban on sale and purchase of non-standard LPG cylinders has been imposed, now only authorized distributors will be able to do LPG business.

According to the details, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has decided to take action against LPG marketing companies. OGRA termed the refilling of LPG in substandard cylinders as illegal and dangerous and said that the sellers of LPG in substandard cylinders and Action will be taken against LPG marketing companies.

Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority said that there are 313 LPG marketing companies across the country, notices have been issued to nineteen cylinder manufacturing companies.

Ogra also banned the sale and purchase of substandard LPG cylinders and issued a notification in this regard.

OGRA officials said that only authorized distributors will be able to do LPG business, action will be taken against marketing companies for selling LPG to unauthorized distributors. OGRA said that new code of conduct for LPG business has been made. Incidents of substandard LPG cylinders bursting have increased, and the legislation is protecting businesses and lives.
