The Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted an anti-encroachment operation at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central secretariat in Islamabad, demolishing a part of the PTI secretariat and sealing the office.
Before the operation, the police blocked the roads leading to the PTI Secretariat.
During the operation, CDA demolished a part of the PTI Secretariat and sealed the Tehreek-e-Insaf office. CDA also affixed the order to seal the Tehreek-e-Insaaf office.
CDA is of the opinion that the operation was carried out to eliminate violation of building rules, illegal constructions and encroachments.
CDA says that the plot located in Sector G84 was allotted to a person named Sartaj Ali. During the operation, a large number of PTI workers gathered, during which some PTI workers were also arrested.
On the other hand, speaking to the media outside the secretariat, PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar has announced to approach the High Court against the CDA initiative.
Chairman PTI said that we have never received any notice regarding encroachment on the secretariat. We asked the CDA officials to show if there is any order, but they could not show.
PTI Secretary General Umar Ayub said that he will raise the issue of CDA’s action in the assembly, strongly condemning CDA’s action. He said that the Islamabad administration carried out the operation in the dark of night. What, the CDA has acted without notice.
