In a major development in the politics of the Middle East, Saudi Arabia has appointed Faisal Al-Mujafal as the new ambassador to Syria after more than half a year.
According to a report by the state news agency SPA, Faisal al-Mujafal thanked the top leadership for his appointment as ambassador to Syria. The Saudi embassy was closed in 2012 during the Syrian civil war. Now Faisal Al-Mujafal will be the first ambassador of the kingdom in Damascus.
It should be noted that Syria reopened its embassy in Saudi Arabia last year and appointed Dr. Mohammad Ayman Sousan as ambassador to Saudi Arabia on December 6.
