Announcement of building the first floating bridge in Dubai.

The Government of Dubai has announced plans to build the first floating 200-meter-long bridge in Al Mamzar area for pedestrians in the near future.

Under this project, 4.3 km of Al Mamzar Beach and 1.4 km of Jumeirah 1 will be modernized in 18 months at a cost of about 355 million dirhams.

These beaches will also be raised to combat the effects of climate change and more than half a million cubic meters of beach sand will be used.

Both beaches will have a total of 11 km of cycling and running tracks and a 5 km tree-lined walkway. These beaches will also have spaces for barbecues, fitness activities, children’s games, beach rest houses and seasonal activities.
